Step One | Analyze
To get where you’re going, you first have to know where you are. One of the biggest mistakes companies can make is to just start committing random acts of marketing without building a context and comprehensive strategy first. This phase helps build a solid foundation for future marketing and sales success.
Sales and Marketing Audits and Gap Analysis – I embed with your marketing and sales teams to gain perspective on what’s working and what’s not. During the process, I meet 1:1 with leadership to understand your goals and with individual contributors to understand their challenges. I will also do a quantitative review of data, software stacks, and processes.
Marrying this research with my experience, I provide you with a channel-by-channel review of the company’s current state, present an optimized future state vision, and outline step-by-step tactics to get there.

Competitive Analysis – The analysis above is mainly inward looking. This project is focused on your main competitors and allows us to gain a context for the challenges/opportunities we see in the market.

Ideal Client Profile Development – Before you take a product to market, you have to know which market gives you the best chance of success. Using your own data and independent research I’ll build a profile of your best clients and a blueprint for how to find more of them. I will also build out personas for your ideal clients which map your unique value proposition to their challenges/objectives. These documents serve as a reference for every piece of content and every campaign we build.

Step Two | Demand Generation Program Development and Execution
After completing a thorough review of the current state of your marketing and sales program, we define the priorities for your organization. With priorities in place, we will develop a common language and expectations.
From there we will build a tactical calendar, define projects, set SMART goals, build dashboards/scorecards, and start executing. Depending on the engagement, this can be hands-on execution, coaching and accountability for your team, or a hybrid model.

Web Copy and Creative Direction – For this project below I wrote the copy and provided creative direction on visuals and layout. I also created specific industry pages for each target vertical for better search engine performance.
Blog Content and eBooks – Leveraging my experience and training as a newspaper reporter, I do a deep dive into your target personas uncovering their goals, challenges, and unanswered questions. I then create high-quality, research-backed content that can be syndicated across other channels including social media, video, webinars, email marketing, ebooks, newsletters, and more.

For this project, we wanted to create a distinctive look and feel for the commercial segment of their business. I served as the creative director, copy writer, and project manager.
